Bring mom with Quadriplegia home
Donation protected
My mom has been diagnosed with Quadriplegia due to a sudden spinal cord injury that left her completely paralyzed from the shoulders down. She lives alone in St. Louis, Missouri and for the past few months has been in the ICU recovering from decompression spinal cord surgery.
The spinal cord is responsible for the body's main functions and major organs. The damage to the spinal cord caused by Quadriplegia has impacted her health drastically, but she is a strong fighter. At this point, she isn't able to speak at all and is in critical condition. She remains alert, but she can't breathe on her own.
To make matters worse, my mother's personal belongings including purse, wallet, ID, and credit cards have been stolen and I've had to pay for medical expenses and care out of pocket. I've been traveling back and forth to visit her, while also trying to be home enough in Houston to take care of my little daughter. I have looked into ground transportation for her to Houston, but it would be impossible due to her health condition and the distance involved.
I need to bring her to Houston via air ambulance to better monitor her condition and try to begin the road to rehabilitation. The transportation expenses amount to USD $20,000 and we need your support in raising the funds in the next two weeks.
We would really appreciate if you could donate what you can to help in my mom's battle and journey. It would also be helpful if you can share this cause with those you think could also help.
Thank you.
