Bring Yinqi and Maggie's Bold Performance to Your City

We are Maggie and Yinqi, the passionate performance duo behind Omnivore Dance, and we’re thrilled to announce our very first evening-length performance after years of sweating it out in the studio, and believe us — crying out loud as well.
This journey has been full of fortuity as well as struggles. We were born and raised in China in two different cities, but we both chose to attend the first Sino-American research university - New York University Shanghai, both majored in Humanities, both minored in Dance, and guess what, we fell in love with dance and each other. From then on, we embarked on the journey to further our bodily training and choreographic methodologies in the United States, attending many notable intensives, festivals, and finally graduated with our MFA in Dance from University of California Irvine.
The years of passion and devotion to dance, philosophy, and art has led us to produce this deeply personal and imaginative evening-length performance through movement, storytelling, and theatrical design, weaving together the deep threads of mythology, folklore, intimacy, and violence, blending cutting-edge bodily training such as Gaga, Countertechnique, and contact improvisation. Our work is not a popular dance performance you'd see on American TV or dance competitions, because as much as it should appeal to the masses, it should also provoke them. Now, we are preparing to take this groundbreaking performance on its US tour, but we need your help to make it a reality.
Your support will help us cover travel expenses, venue rentals, set design transportation, and production costs for a tour that brings this artistic vision to life on stages across the United States — New York City, Chicago, Boston, Houston, Columbus... By donating, you’ll become a vital part of a project that challenges the boundaries of dance and the depth of human expression.
Help us share our art with the world! Any contribution, big or small, brings us closer to this dream. We thank you for believing in our vision and for supporting independent, avant-garde contemporary dance!
