For Russ: Support His Recovery and Care

Dear Friends and Family,

While on vacation in Southern California at the end of May, Russ had an accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury (TBI). It required life-saving surgery, an ICU stay, and now a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility in the Los Angeles area.

At this time, Russ is still not fully awake. We need help to care for him, get him back to the east coast Boston area where he can continue to recover, and to pay the related bills that are piling up. Although he can’t tell us this, we know that he wants to be in the Boston area to recover and rehab around family and friends. His surgeon and doctors agree…

Update : Sometimes “thank you” is very inadequate for saying what is in our hearts… but today it is all we have. Russ is now at Mass General’s Neuro ICU while we await placement to a MA based Long Term Care Facility where Russ can continue to heal.

His gentle spirit has touched so many of you… West coast, East coast, Utah, Texas, Florida, Wisconsin, New Jersey, New York and all of New England… YOU brought him home… You have eased the burden for transport and medical costs significantly and for that, we are forever grateful.
