Bring Service Dog Nash Home
Donation protected
I'm fundraising to pay for my service dog Nash and bring him home.
Two years ago I started having seizures while at work. After that my life did a complete 180° as my health started to decline quickly. Now I'm a 22 year old with mobility issues and 7 pills a day. I'm consistently in a wheelchair and occasionally using a walker to ambulate. The constant state of fear I'm in due to the seizures being uncontrolled has taken over a lot of aspects of my life.
I started my career in healthcare as a CNA on a path towards getting my degree in Registered Nursing. It's been hard to navigate going from a caretaker to patient. Learning how to ask for help after having a life geared to helping others has been a hard life switch. Especially having to give up my original major due to the inability to meet the physical requirements of working as a nurse. Despite being disabled now, I hope to further my education in Neuroscience to explore Alzheimers research.
I have trouble doing a lot of daily activity now that I wouldn't have even stopped to think about before. He will help me do things like keep my balance if I have to transfer from my wheelchair to get into bed, use the restroom, get into a car. When I drop an item out of my hand there is a risk of falling from my wheelchair because I can't balance and pick it up, Nash will pick items up for me. But the most important task that Nash as my seizure service dog will perform is to alert me before a seizure happens.
Once I pay for Nash, he'll be with me 24/7, helping me gain independence through school, shopping, and daily life.
