Bring Sydney to Sydney!

On the 16th December I found this little angel by the side of the road in Canggu Bali, hiding underneath a concrete building, alone and terrified. She was timid and afraid to approach me... but after a lot of patience she jumped into my arms. I asked the owner of the building if they knew she was there and they said they were aware but unable to reach her because she was always so scared.. they couldn’t believe I was holding her in my arms. 

I took her to the vet and aside from her sniffly nose was so relieved to know that she seems to be in good health and ready for her vaccinations soon. 
I knew I had to return to Australia in 3 days time and I wanted a piece of me to always stay with her, so I named her Sydney. Luckily I have friends in Bali so I initially began contacting everyone I knew to help find her a loving home. I couldn’t bare the thought of giving her to a shelter and never knowing where she could end up. 

But after only a couple of days together, I knew she was mine. At first she was a shy girl, constantly shaking and frightened by loud noises. After just one day of being fed and nurtured she has become so confident, curious, energetic and loving. We stuck together like glue and I knew I had to find a way to bring her home with me. Unfortunately exporting regulations to Australia are extremely complex, expensive and lengthy. After inquiring with the department of agriculture and an exporting agency, it will take approximately 9 months and $10,000 to bring this little baby to Sydney. 

I love her and she loves me, but we both need your help to keep us together! All donations will be put towards:
Blood tests, sampling and retests
Microchipping
Transportation to Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur & Sydney
All vaccinations (inc. C3, CC, rabies etc)
Internal and external parasite treatment
Boarding fees 
Overseas submission fee
All documentation and health certificates
Import and export permits
Government veterinary inspection
Quarantine booking and fee

In the unlikely but unfortunate possibility that during the process they may determine she is unfit for export to Australia, it is with a broken heart that I will donate all proceeds to BAWA - Bali Animal Welfare Association to help save other dogs suffering in Bali. 

I am so thankful to have amazing friends in Bali who will take care of her whilst we undergo this process. I will be trying my best to visit her throughout but it will be a long 9 months before we are permanently reunited in Australia. I know it will be worth the wait!
