BRING BACK THE PLACITA MARKET BACK!
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
to begin the building is insured but unfortunately our equipment and supplies is total loss.
With heavy hearts, we share the devastating news that our family’s Mexican market, which has been a cornerstone of our community for over 20 years, was tragically destroyed in a fire.
For two decades, our market wasn’t just a place to shop—it was a gathering place, a hub for sharing culture, and a labor of love that our family poured everything into. From freshly made tortillas to the familiar faces of neighbors who became friends, the market represented our passion and commitment to serving our community.
The fire has left us with nothing but memories and a profound sense of loss. Everything is gone—the building, inventory, equipment, and the small comforts we worked so hard to provide. While insurance will cover some of the damages, it won’t be nearly enough to rebuild and reopen.
We are turning to you—our friends, neighbors, and anyone who has supported us throughout the years—for help. We’re raising funds to:
• Rebuild the market structure from the ground up
• Replace the inventory and equipment we lost
• Support our family during this challenging time
• Restore our ability to serve the community we love
For 20 years, this market has been our livelihood and our pride. It has also been a place where traditions thrived, connections were made, and our culture was celebrated. We want nothing more than to rebuild and continue serving the community that has supported us all these years.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will bring us closer to reopening our doors. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story with others would mean so much to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and belief in our dream. Together, we can bring back the market and ensure it remains a cherished part of the community for many more years to come.
Love
