Support Wanda Stumps’ Road to Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to seek your support in bringing my beloved mom, Wanda Stump, back home to Salt Lake City, Utah. We are wanting to get her back home within the next 1-2 weeks if possible.

On July 26th, 2024 during what was meant to be a dream trip to Germany on a Viking River Cruise, my mom suffered a serious medical emergency and is now hospitalized in a psychiatric facility in Germany.

Wanda has always been a beacon of strength, raising me as a single parent and caring for her own mother who struggled with schizophrenia. She is a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout her life, she has selflessly helped others in their times of need, and it’s painful to see her in this vulnerable state.

Recently, she experienced a sudden and severe manic psychosis episode, making it impossible for her to travel home safely by commercial flight back to the United States. We learned that the only way to transport her back to Utah is via a medical flight (Air Med), which will provide the necessary medical care during her journey. We are profoundly concerned for her well-being as she remains in a foreign country, and we fear for her mental health as time passes.

The cost of such a medical transport is exorbitant—$140,000—and unfortunately, her insurance does not cover international transport. This financial burden compounds the stress on our family during this challenging time.

We are humbly reaching out for assistance, as asking for help is never easy. Our goal is to raise $140,000 to cover the medical flight and any additional related expenses.
