Bring Water Back to the Home of Hope

Hi, my name is Patrika Mani and I am a fundraising volunteer for Home of Hope for Girls in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Here in Ireland, the people fought against water charges and so far have won, but in South Africa, not only do they have to pay for water, if the bill goes unpaid, the water supply is cut off - even for charities. Imagine cutting off the water supply to an orphanage for girls rescued from trafficking.

As disheartening as this reality is, you can make a difference. Please join me in raising the money necessary to bring water back to Home of Hope.

HOH was founded 20 years ago by Global Citizen award winner, Mam Khanyi, and she remains steadfast at the helm. Not only does Mam Khanyi raise 80 girls at a time, paying for their school fees and uniforms, their medical and pharmaceutical bills, the bus that brings the girls to school, fuel for the bus and cooking, and food on the table, all with NO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT, she also brings the pimps and traffickers to court, and she wins.

Mam Khanyi bears these challenges and even threats to her life with incredible grace, strength and love, but she needs our help. Be assured that with every euro given, Mam Khanyi multiplies its power and scope in not only supporting and nurturing these incredible girls and turning them into leaders, but also systematically taking down the people committing these atrocities against young women and children.

Please help me raise the 5000 euros needed to clear this debt, and hopefully much more. May this campaign go viral so that the Home of Hope can have a good Christmas and a good start to the new year and beyond.
