Bring Willow Home

Hey everyone, on Jan 7th I was attempting to travel back to DC from visiting with my mom in NJ - I rented a car, it being the safest way to travel right bow, and made a quick stop to pee at a Speedway gas station. In the 3 minutes I was gone, my rental car was stolen with my beloved cat Willow inside.

I have done everything in my power to spread the word and get her back. Enterprise doesn’t track their cars. They turned my iPhone off right away. I’ve posted on Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Craigslist, Reddit, FindMyKitty.com, PawBoost.com, called every local shelter and vet in the area, and contacted news media with the help of countless kind strangers who have reached out to help.

My TikToks have gone semi viral with over 125k views on the highest one at the time of this posting. NBC has covered our story, along with NJ.com, NJ 101.5, The Observer, Daily Voice, and Fox News. All of this finally led to some leads...

The car was discovered yesterday (1/12) in Newark along with most of my belongings, but no sign of Willow or her carrier. Today, another kind stranger came forward anonymously with the rest of my belongings which were dumped at his house around where the car was left. This person said that they sighted the pink carrier she went missing in, but didn’t investigate further.

The carrier has not been found, nor has Willow, but now we have a place to search. I’m in touch with some local women who run trap-neuter-release, and animal rescue operations in the area, and we are going tomorrow to plaster the area with posters, set up traps, talk to neighbors, and set out to find Willow, but we need help raising money for a reward to get folks attention. A donation of $500 has already been pledged - as much as we can raise and publicize will make a huge difference in having someone come forward.
