Bring Winnie Home to Arielle: Your Help Needed
Donation protected
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and a plea for help. Winnie, our sweet 2-year-old chihuahua mix, was critically injured on November 17th, 2024, when she was pinned beneath a slow-moving vehicle in her driveway. Winnie isn’t just a pet—she’s a beloved support dog specifically chosen by 11-year-old Arielle Beaulieu, a brain cancer survivor who also lives with epilepsy. Winnie has been by Arielle’s side, offering comfort and companionship during some of her hardest moments. This little dog has done wonders for Ari’s morale and confidence.
The accident left Winnie with severe injuries, including a completely crushed vertebra in her spine and a broken pelvis. In a complex 5+ hour surgery on November 18th, two board-certified surgeons at Maine Veterinary Medical Center worked tirelessly to repair the damage. While the surgery appears to have been a success, Winnie now faces a long road to recovery, including continued hospital care, medications, and rehabilitation.
The unexpected medical costs have been overwhelming, already totaling $14,000+ and expected to exceed $22,000. While we were approved for $9,200 in credit, it is not enough to cover the full expenses. Winnie cannot come home until the bill is paid in full, and we are doing everything we can to meet this challenge.
We are asking for your support to help reunite Arielle with her beloved Winnie. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to this goal. Your kindness and generosity can help bring Winnie home to her favorite person.
Thank you for opening your hearts to our family during this incredibly difficult time.
