Provide school supplies to 500 Nepali students

The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide school supplies (and some recreational equipment) to an underfunded school in far-western Nepal.
Target Fundraising* Goal:
$5,000 CAD for school supplies for 500 students for a whole school year starting April 2025.
*We are not a registered charity yet and cannot issue any tax receipt.
Our first focus at this stage is the Madu School, located in the Achham District. The Madu School has the highest concentration of marginalized group of students who face systemic barriers due to caste, gender and socio-economic status.
Did you know?
- 47% of the population in the Achham district lives below the poverty line, and 10,071 families lived in extreme poverty. Poor infrastructure and geography limit growth opportunities.
- Poor families in the Achham District are categorized under 3 groups of government ID cards by colours (red, yellow, green), based on their financial standing. 80% of the students at the Madu School have red government ID card, indicating poor status.
- Absenteeism from school is often attributed to affordability. For $10 CAD, you can provide all the necessary school supplies to a student for an entire school year.
Although public school in Nepal is government funded, additional annual costs to students include: school uniform, shoes, backpack, school supplies and school fee of 2,000 NPR (~$22 CAD). Fortunately, the school provides students with a nutritious school lunch daily. That is why we are fundraising to cover for school supplies. It provides substantial financial relief to the students and their family, as well as dignity having the fundamental tools for learning.

Your donation includes:
(1) A back-to-school 'kit' for a student when they start school in April (each 'kit' differs by grade).
(2) Additional supplies stockpile of notebooks, pencils and pens per student available throughout the year, so that no student is left without the basics for school.
