Charlie E. Maurer passed away on August 23rd, 2020 of a heart attack. This took Rachael and their son Taylor by surprise because Charlie had no known heart issues. We can all agree he was taken too soon and the loss of him will leave a difficult path for them in the days and months to come.
Charlie and Rachael fell in love over 18 years ago. Their love only grew stronger with their marriage and after bringing Taylor into this world. He was their EVERYTHING. They lived no moment without him in it and never spent a thought without him at the front of every decision. Some would joke that as an only child he was spoiled, I'd say he was extra blessed. They only wanted to give him the world, and I'd say they accomplished that in every aspect of what they did for him.
Charlie adored Taylor and it goes without saying that he loved his father just the same.
We are reaching out to raise funds to assist them in these rough months ahead. Medical bills, medical transportation bills are already coming in the mail along with many more unforeseen bills from this tragic loss. Insurance was provided by Charlie's work and that will be another difficult task to address. Rachael will need to take an leave of absence from work to handle all of the necessary obstacles to come in preparing for Charlie's Celebration of Life, and they would call it nothing but. Charlie lived his life to the fullest every single day. He hunted and fished with his son, Taylor and enjoyed the salt life.
Charlie loved his wife and he loved his son. I adore the pictures I see the most where they dressed up at Christmas every year...matching! I'm still not sure who decided this, Rachael OR Charlie... but in all of the pictures I think Charlie is smiling the biggest.
My sister, Rachael and my nephew will need our support. I ask that anyone that can donate and help them have a sense of comfort during what must be the hardest thing we go through in life, reach into their heart and give. This family loved each other as much, if not more, than any family does. Let's help give them a bit more comfort in the days and months to come.
