Solstice blessings for EV and Jae

On Wednesday evening, EV and Jae said goodbye to their dad, Jake, for the last time. No child should have to experience the death of their father, least of all during the holiday season.

Their mother, Sarah, has missed work to support EV and Jae during this very hard time for them. She works three jobs and gives the kids every opportunity to follow their passions, while keeping the heat and lights on and their bellies fed. This family is made up of some of the kindest, most creative and giving people I personally know. Sarah and I have been friends since our babies were small and she helped me regain my confidence and make my mark as a young single mom.

I will never be able to repay her for helping me find myself again in my darkest days. But I can shine a little solstice light on her children during this winter season and make sure they get a Christmas celebration and their bills stay paid.
