Get Lupa Home Safe

Hello everyone,

My name is Nicolo Massa, I'm 21 years young and I love traveling and my family means the world to me.

Putting those things together (my love for my family and my love for travel), I saved up just enough money to visit Sicily to see the country where my father was born. This was a trip I dreamed of my entire life.

(Please read until the end)

Little did I know, only 4 days into my trip, I would find an abandoned puppy on the side of a mountain I was driving down. It was very dark out, cold, and the puppy looked hungry. My instinct kicked in... I got out of my car and rescued the puppy. My heart beating fast because I had no idea how I'd raise this puppy in a foreign country.. but none of that mattered at the time.. Getting the puppy to a safe environment and feeding it was all that I cared about.

On the drive home, I look down and the puppy was sound asleep on my lap. This was my first sign that I wanted to keep her.

Having no idea how to feed a puppy this small, my friend and I went to a Pharmacy (it was late, no vets were open) and found out that I could feed it baby formula in a bottle to get her through the night. So I did.

The next morning, I took the puppy to the Vet and found out she was only about 6 weeks old, that I would need to feed her a bottle every three hours, all day long, for the next 3 weeks. It was definitely stressful waking up every 3 hours to make a bottle for 3 weeks, but I did it because I felt love for this beautiful little puppy.

At this point, I still had no idea what I was going to do with the puppy. ***Stray animals are in abundance here in the countryside of Sicily and unfortunately, many of them die young due to a lack of food*** When I walked down the street and saw a dead cat on the road after a hail storm, I knew that I would NOT allow this puppy to go back into the streets to suffer the same fate (another sign to bring this puppy home).

The next morning, I went to the Vet and told him I wanted to bring her home with me to the USA. I paid a lot of money (when I didn't have a lot on this trip to start) to get her all of the necessary shots, get her paperwork done, and to get her a passport for entry into the United States. All of this being an unexpected cost on a small budget adventure in Sicily.

To wrap this story up, it's time for me to return to the United States, and unfortunately, there are very few airlines that fly from Sicily to the US that allow pets. With that being said, the flights are very expensive ($1,600 ONE-WAY to be exact). I need to raise the funds within the next week to be able to fly home on November 25th, 2015 so I can spend the holidays with my family.

I cannot afford to fly home with this beautiful puppy at this time, so that is why I've created this donation page.

Please find it in your heart to help this beautiful, innocent puppy to find a loving home and a better life in the United States. A small donation of $5-$10 would go a long way in helping the cause.

I am already grateful that you took the time to read this. Let's rally together and give this puppy a new life.

Thank you for your time and for your loving donation!

Love,
Nicolo & Lupa

PS - All donors will receive a Christmas card from this beautiful little girl to serve as a reminder of your kind spirit :)
