EarpSquare in Purgatory
Donation protected
We are going big… by going home.
BASICS:
First thing first: this GoFundMe is to raise funds in the name of #BringWynonnaHome for the Town of Didsbury, Alberta, Canada (aka Purgatory from the show Wynonna Earp) and the non-profit organization Keep Alberta Rolling.
Second thing second: there will be various giving levels that will allow you to project an image or video (no sound) of your choice on to large screens at three iconic and recognizable locations in Didsbury (aka Purgatory) for between 15 and 30 seconds (more information below) on April 8th, 2021. Basically, you will be able to buy a billboard(s) that will be displayed on three screens in Purgatory!
That's right: we're bringing EarpSquare to Purgatory!
GIVING LEVELS:
NOTE: the donation amounts below are minimum and cover being projected on all three billboard locations, please feel free (and do!) to donate more if you are able as this is a philanthropic endeavor and we want to donate as much as we can to Didsbury!
We will be live streaming the event on April 8th. More information on how to tune in will be made available at a later date on this GoFundMe page. See BringWynonnaHome.Com/billboards for all of the latest!
BACKGROUND / MORE INFORMATION:
The story of #WynonnaEarp and of the Earpers (their fandom name) is long and complicated. There have been struggles and there have been triumphs. But through it all, there has been found family, and there has been a found home.
When the Earpers were fighting for Season 4 (promised, but almost not delivered due financial issues at one of the major players involved in the show), the Earpers rallied. Not just on social media but also by funding over 100 billboards in New York City’s Times Square that showed our love and devotion to Wynonna Earp and all she stands for.
Well, here we are again, fighting for just one more season. The entity that promised season 5 has bowed out. And, hey, that’s something we can definitely focus our attention on in the future, but right now we want to move forward and #BringWynonnaHome to a new network or streaming service!
So, to show our dedication, to show what this show means to us, and to show the kind of passion and yes, love, we can bring to whomever might pick us up, we’re going to pay homage to the Times Square billboards. It’s time to remind the world (and a future network/service) what we are made of, and at the same time and really more importantly, we’re going to reach out to our found home and give back.
At its heart, Wynonna Earp is about the impact of legacy, and what better legacy can the Earpers leave than to give of ourselves and give back to the community that has embraced our crazy little show.
So, we are announcing this initiative to fund Billboards in Purgatory!!! (aka Didsbury)
Three ‘billboards’ (screens) will be set up in three locations in Didsbury pictured below on April 8th starting at 8 pm MOUNTAIN time (10 pm Eastern time). As part of your contribution you will be able to send us an image that will be displayed on all three screens! The event will be live streamed and also photographed so that you can SEE and have a digital image sent back to you!
There is a base cost to simply set up the screens and have projectors running for the billboards. Fortunately, that base cost has been covered by philanthropic Earpers. Meaning that every dollar donated will go directly to our cause (the Town of Didsbury (60% of funds raised) / Keep Alberta Rolling (40% of funds raised).
GOALS:
1) Support local town initiatives in Didsbury, a place that has been the found home of Purgatory. Our initial goal of $6000 will fully fund a Didsbury Museum Train Track Restoration project; if we exceed our goal, funds will go towards the Didsbury Town Library project or another municipal project of their choosing.
2) Have an amazing time celebrating our fandom on the night before our fourth season finale! We are going to project big screen images IN Purgatory that will be live streamed across the world!
3) Raise awareness of the passion of this fandom for this show (and catch the notice of the press and networks)!!
Remember: This is NOT mandatory! You can choose to contribute or not, it’s totally up to you but we do hope everyone tunes into the live streams on April 8th and celebrates Earp Square in Purgatory!
Thanks for reading and let's bring EarpSquare to Purgatory and #BringWynonnaHome.
