Bristol Storm Barcelona Tournament Fundraising

Hello, I am David, the chair of Bristol Storm.

Bristol Storm is an inner-city, community basketball club that offers basketball for all. Our club is primary a juniors program with us rebuilding our seniors side. Our under 18's team will be particpating in the EuroYouthCup in June 2022.

In 2021/2022, we decided to enter an International Basketball Tournament in Barcelona where we are taking 14 kids, all under 18 years old, out of the country to participate in this tournament. For some of these kids this could be the first time they've ever played basketball internationally, and the competition is sure to be tough. We wanted to offer further opportunties for our players outside of the standard British National League games, to give them something to work towards and to aim for.

Our club receives no funding from the government, and we have no corporate sponsorships. We purely exist on the subs paid by the players, which severely limits our ability to grow, and provide further opportunities for players, as well as the community.

The club is looking for help in building funds to help cover the cost of the Spanish tournament, as well as to help provide necessary equipment for the development of the club. We want to continue to be able to offer international basketball experience to our players, as well as a pathway from juniors to men's/women's programs. We need funds to help cover the flight costs, tournament entry, and lodging. We also need as a club to purchase shot clocks, another mini-bus, and to be able to sustain court hire over the next 12 months. All funds raised will go into the club account to help ensure we can provide these things this season, and seasons to come.

We are one of the largest clubs in the city, as well as one of the oldest. We are working towards rebuilding premiere programs as well as other opportunities in basketball. We would like to be able to purchase a 3x3 Fiba portable court so we can offer tournaments as well, but again due to funds we are extremely limited in what we can offer.
