Brittany and Tyler Milligan’s Baby Journey
Donation protected
Please consider my family in this journey of life. These past two years, Brittany and Tyler have faced heart wrenching news after news. They have suffered through two miscarriages. On April 15th Brittany lost their baby girl followed by a d&c procedure the next day. During months of healing and trying they found out they were pregnant! Milligan baby #2 was due on the day of her first d&c procedure. Unfortunately during their routine appointment they were wrecked by the news of the second miscarriage followed by another d&c procedure. After the reoccurring pregnancy losses it was determined that Brittany has a chromosomal abnormality. Many procedures and blood tests diagnosed her with a paracentric inversion on her chromosome 3. The inversion is large in size and takes up 2/3 of the chromosome making syncing of both parents difficult in making a healthy developing baby. This condition can make fertility difficult with chance of many losses. Doctors, specialists and genetic counselors have recommended IVF with extra testing to help increase the chances of having a healthy developing baby. This summer they attempted their first round of IVF with many doctor’s appointments, ultrasounds and medications. Unfortunately after the retrieval and fertilization all of the embryos stopped developing by day 3. The difficult news left the couple feeling devastated of IVF failure. It was hard for them to grasp that the process was for nothing. But later identified an underlying blessing that Brittany could have had 7 more miscarriages. Even during a difficult time both Brittany and Tyler have shown grace and continue to be hopeful. The fighting spirit within them and the desire of having a baby left them with the urge of wanting to try again. Their care team is hopeful but due to the inversion it can take multiple attempts to have their baby they both dream of. Unfortunately many companies do not offer fertility healthcare coverage and costs can be astronomical especially with the extra measures needed in their process. A cycle can be close to $27,000 due to extra testing needed by Genomics, medications and procedures. Brittany and Tyler see it is hard to ask for help but this is something that can be life changing for their family. We would like to start a GoFundme page to help anyway possible for them to be one step closer in their journey. They will be more than grateful and appreciative for encouraging words or donations. Please feel free to share their link with others. Thank you for your love and support in their baby journey.
