Brittany Ling Scholarship Fund

Brittany was a member of the Mansfield Senior HIgh Bands from 1994-1996, performing on Flute in the Marching Band, Freshman Band, and The Concert Band. In spite of a painful handicap due to childhoo cancer, she excelled at Marching Band. She became a dependable and valued member of the Freshman and Concert Bands, and was a Model Student. 

Her courage and cheerful demeanor served as an example for all. She lost her battle with cancer during her Sophomore year, on May 17, 1996. 

A scholarship fund was started in her memory, and has been given to a Sophomore at Mansfield Senior High School to help them further their musical journey in High School. 

Regrettably, this fund is running low, and to keep the scholarship going, the award has been reduced. Even at this reduced amount, the scholarship will not last much longer. 

Those of us who knew Brittany will tell you that she was an amazing person. She was a great friend, and truly made the world a better place.  

The $1000 goal of this campaign is to directly fund the scholarship fund for the next 10 years, giving the recipient $100 to aid them. Any money above and beyond this will serve to extend the length of the scholarship into the future.
