On the afternoon of Friday March 29th, many of us heard about the tragic fatal accident near Polaris. Sadly it affected one of Worthington's very own. Brittney Harris, her two sons Darius and Brannon and mother Debra. Darius, 8th grade at Perry Middle School and Brannon, Kindergarten at Slate Hill, both sustained very serious injuries. Debra, beloved mother and best friend to Brittney, and devoted grandmother to the boys unfortunately did not survive her injuries.
Debra was more than a mother and grandmother to Brittney and the boys. Anyone who knows them, knows what a central beacon of love, warmth, wisdom and support she was to their precious family. Whether driving Darius to and from practices or helping to run the household, she was an ever present blessing in their lives.
As you can imagine this is a devastating loss to their family, an unimaginable trauma that they all have experienced first hand. Brittney will need all the love, prayers and support she can get over the coming weeks and months as she learns to navigate life without her mom and helping the boys process all they have been through. She will be taking the next few weeks off work to help take care of the boys and their injuries.
This amazing family could truly use any support our community is able to give. Any funds received will be used towards medical expenses and funeral arrangements.
