Funeral Expenses for Brittney Harris

Hello, my name is Tamika Elgin. I am starting this fundraiser for my niece Brittney, who lives in the Fieldale community.

Tuesday, August 23, our precious Brittney had a massive heart attack. CPR along with cardioversion was performed multiple times to restart her heart. She also had a seizure. She underwent a procedure to stretch her 100% blocked artery, and a stent was also placed to keep it open. Brittney also had an intra-aortic balloon pump placed in her heart; this medical device is used to help maintain blood circulation. Among the multiple medications given to her through IVs is a seizure preventative medication.

Today (Thursday, August 25th), she is on life support.

I want to tell you a little about Brittney, my niece, who truly has a heart of gold. Brittney is a 36 year old mother of 3 children. Alicia Boyd 19, Hayden 15 and Elijah 11 months old. No matter what she was going through in her personal life, she always had a beautiful smile and spoke the sweetest words. She is someone you can talk to and, at times, would give advice. She has the best sense of humor and a contagious laugh. If your around her, you are guaranteed a lot of talking and laughing!! Brittney would always say goodbye with a hug and a soft kiss on the cheek.

Brittney, just like me, loves to collect antiques of any kind. One of her favorites is antique or vintage cameras.

Brittney works a full-time at-home job while caring for her baby Elijah. She also helps others anytime she can.

I started this fundraiser to help her family pay the monthly bills, furnish gas to and from the hospital, food etc

We don't know what the future holds for Brittney or how long it will take her to recover. Both her mom (Saprena) and dad (Bruce) have been by her side while in the hospital.  Therefore I hope that donations will at least ease the financial worries I'm sure her parents have.
