Karen Stratton Stroke Recovery Fund

Donation protected
We've been crying here as we sit, trying to write this to you all. Our heart aches with the pain we are in because of how much our family is suffering.

Unfortunately this was a rough Easter - our grandmother passed away a couple of months ago and the emptiness of her presence makes the holidays difficult. Adding to the pain, just two days before Easter, our beloved Karen (Aunt / Little sister / Friend) had a stroke in Florida at 1 in the morning leaving her paralyzed on her left side with blurred vision and inability to eat due to swallowing difficulties

Karen lives in New York but took the first flight to Florida to when she received the devastating news that her best friend passed away. The night before the funeral service, Karen was struck with the abrupt stroke.

Unfortunately, Karen has been rejected from several rehabilitation centers - Florida rehabs will NOT accept aunt Karen into their facilities due to her New York insurance and the hospital she is currently in will not release her until we find her a rehab. Because of the condition that she is in, the doctor said we are not able to fly her to New York  - We need a medical transport service van that has a bed for her in it with the medical supplies and support she will need to get here. By donating you are helping us make that happen.

Karen’s sisters, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends all want her to go home to New York so we can provide her the rehab she needs to recover and show her all of the love and support that she needs through this difficult time.

Karen is one is the sweetest people you could ever meet. She thrives on life, always putting others before herself. She wears her heart on her sleeve, always going the extra mile to please people, giving so much without ever asking for anything in return.

Please make a donation to help us give Karen her life back so she can continue to be the amazing person she once was. (Every dollar makes a difference. - “Give change to make change.”) To achieve maximal recovery, stoke patients should begin a rehabilitation program as soon as they are stable. The sooner we have enough money the sooner our dear aunt and sister Karen, can start her road to recovery. Thank you. God bless.
