Brock Holman Medical Relief Fund

Hi, my name is Mandy and I am the sister of Brock Holman. As some of you may know, Brock has been battling some pretty big medical demons over the course of the last year and a half. On Tuesday of last week, Brock was admitted to Spencer Hospital with a very aggressive infection to his right foot. He had surgery to debride the infected tissue on Tuesday evening. By Wednesday morning, the infection had, unfortunately, spread. He was scheduled for a radical debridement on Wednesday afternoon to try to save what they could of his foot. Intra-operatively, they discovered the tissue on his foot was not salvageable. His Doctor informed us that they would need to do a below the knee amputation. About an hour later, the Doctor came out to tell us the infection had spread up to his knee. At this time, a lifesaving and devastating decision had to be made to extend the amputation above his knee.

Brock has been in the ICU at Spencer Hospital under the care of a pretty amazing group of surgeons, doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and CNAs. He is taking it all day by day, at this point.

I have had several people reach out asking if he's accepting visitors. At this time, he is not ready for any visitors outside of family. We are hoping he will be moved out of the ICU very soon. We will keep you all posed on when he is ready to start having visitors.

As you can imagine, Brock has a very long road ahead of him. So many have asked what they can do to help. If you wish, and are able, to donate to ease the financial burden on Brock, we would be so thankful. If you know Brock, you know that he is always helping others and so rarely thinks of himself.
