Support Brockman’s during Emily’s MS relapse

Emily is the mother of 3 little girls. A wife. A caregiver. The strong arm that keeps everyone running.
Last week Friday, Emily came home from work and began to experience uncontrolled spasms and movements down the left side of her body and face, and we had believed the possibility of a stroke. She was admitted into the hospital for further testing, and they had found that her Multiple Sclerosis has progressed with new lesions and damage to her spinal cord and brain. They did not have much of an answer for the involuntary movements that she was having with her body that came and went over and over. She was given high doses of iv steroids for 5 days and muscle relaxers to try to help with this, but little to no relief. Emily has continued to struggle with the body spasms, causing her arm to lock up on the left side of her body, and her face to spasm and droop. She is triggered by sounds, stress, and movements, that is causing her body to react in this way. She went back into the hospital because it is causing her so many issues with being tired and progressively weak. A neurologist from across the country has determined that she is having myoclonic seizures due to to her multiple sclerosis and the new lesions she has in her cervical spine and brain, having further spinal spinal disease progressing. They have started her on seizure medication to try and help, but ultimately won’t have full results until she is back on her disease therapy for her MS, which is again pending insurance. Emily has been off of work the last week, and doesn’t know when she is returning once she is stable enough to do so. Travis has also been off to help take care of the kids and Emily, which is going to cause financial distress with the medical bills coming in as well as current life expenses.
Emily hates asking for help. She is too prideful, but during a time like this, it’s going to be needed. She does so much for her family and for her job, that this is a large struggle for her to battle. And if you can’t help, just pray. Pray that she can get the help she needs and the right doctors in her corner to stabilize her in this. She is terrified of the unknown for her future and could use some good thoughts.
