Show Your Care for Brody
I am Brody’s uncle, Scott Friend. I’m writing on behalf of his friends and family. Brody was involved in a severe car wreck on Wednesday, April 5th. The injuries he incurred required multiple surgeries to save his life. After 48 nightmarish hours he is still facing life-threatening issues. We do not expect the weeks ahead to be any easier as there will only be new challenges. Ultimately, I, his family and friends are trusting God as He is Sovereign in all things.
We’ve always known Brody has had the gift of making friends very easily. His smile is captivating, and his attitude of team and self-sacrifice has always been quickly and rightly displayed. Whether it was wearing a Blue Devil or Hanover Panther uniform, attending BNI meetings or working as an employee…in all his relationships he serves others ahead of himself.
Watching 30 or 40+ young people (most of which I’ve never met) in the waiting rooms for two endless days/nights sitting quietly just to hear SOMETHING about Brody’s condition was a sight I will never let go of. It was affirmation to me as his uncle that Brody’s character is the same now as it has been since he was a child.
This post isn’t for Brody, it is for you reading it. It isn’t about funds or money either. God has divinely intersected your life with his and he is or has been a blessing to you. And by evidence of these first 48 hours many have made it known that you want to be a blessing to him. And that you want to express your care for him, Alyssa and his family.
We trust God with Brody’s life, we trust the doctors and nurses with his care. The greatest need unfulfilled as of now will be hospital bills and other needs in the next 12 months to help him adjust to the injuries he incurred from this accident.
Please pray for him and if you would like to help with Brody’s difficult situation let me say Thank You on behalf of his friends and his family.
April 8th Update:
Brody is doing well this morning. His parents and Alyssa were able to speak to him and hold his hand. He was able to make eye contact, squeeze hands and respond with head motions. He’s fighting with all he has. His fever is up this morning so visitation is shut down for the day while we anticipate surgery in the morning to close up the right leg and check left leg injuries. We continue to praise Jesus that Brody is breathing let alone able to show his parents he knows they are there. Thank you for the prayers and a huge hand in what will be an aid in the financial bills that are to come. Brody is more loved than he probably imagined.
