Brody Family - Don't Stop Believing

As many of you know, in preparing for a routine procedure last week, doctors discovered a mass in Jacob Brody's abdomen.  Subsequent biopsy results have confirmed that Jacob has stage 4 neuroblastoma.  It’s a devastating diagnosis, but it is a treatable form of cancer, great strides have been made in this area of oncology in recent years; and this particular cancer responds well to chemotherapy.  Jacob is being treated by the neuroblastoma team at Memorial Sloan Kettering and will begin the first of many rounds of chemotherapy this week.

It is truly unfathomable and heartbreaking that the Brodys are going through this, but they have an extraordinary support system and the absolute best doctors and best care available.  It will be a long road ahead, but between Abby’s huge heart and positive energy and Steve’s meticulous oversight, knowledge and research, no parental team is better equipped to manage.

And then there is Jacob. In Abby's words, he is the funniest, wittiest boy that ever existed. He is as brave as a lion. He speaks in quack and his favorite superhero is Nightwing.  He needs our support, our prayers and the force of the Brody family community behind him.

That is why we have started this page. To coordinate our efforts and raise funds to thank the nurses and doctors who will support Jacob. To add sunshine, activities and distractions to Jacob's days as he battles through the next year of chemotherapy and surgeries. And most importantly, to raise funds for MSKCC's groundbreaking research efforts to treat neuroblastoma.
