My name is Ashlea. I am a caregiver for my husband and three boys. My husband served one tour of duty in Iraq with the Marine Corp. The trauma he experienced while deployed has left him disabled. I have stayed at home to care for him and our three boys, ages 6, 5, and 2 years old.

I was interviewed in the article but remained anonymous because of the possible repercussions should our family be deported and my husband face Court Martial. If you would like to know more please message me personally.

I want to start my own business so that our family can be less reliant on assistance but that I can still be there to care for them. My goal is not only to improve our lives but also those in my small community. My passion is to make art accessible! That is my mandate. BrokenArt Mosaic will provide do-it-yourself mosaic kits.

Creating mosaic art has been very therapeutic for me in the darkest times of my life. I want to share the therapeutic qualities of making your own mosaic while bringing families and friends together for a fun
past time.

Last year I particpated in an entrepreneurship course. Things have gone very well since then. I had the opportunity to display and provide support for Jace Wars which raises funds for the Ronald McDonald House. I was able to hold workshops for adults with disabilites and during a summer camp at out local Community Living.

I am currently setting up an online shop at Etsy.com. I hope to have it up and running in early to mid-March.
