As many of you know, I (Molly) was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as well as Fibromylagia and chronic migraines.

“Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of rare inherited conditions that affect connective tissue.

Connective tissues provide support in skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, internal organs and bones.” www.nhs.uk

EDS is not curable, but the type that I have is not life threatening, either. However, it has disabled me from doing many normal life activities and created severe chronic pain.

There is quite a spectrum of how EDS might affect a person. If you read past updates, I go into more detail and on many of the physical and practical consequences. These things have placed practical burdens on our family, particularly financially.

There are treatments available, especially in the functional medicine realm, that are helping but are not covered by insurance. Again, I share in more detail in the updates.

In addition to the available treatments we run into visits to urgent care or the ER, and have to cover necessary interventions because of the secondary issues that EDS causes.

As we prayerfully consider next best steps we want to humbly reach out to anyone that would feel led to share the financial burden in order to further treat these issues. We have no expectations and would only want anyone to give who really feels able and led to do so.

We also want you to know how much your gifts make a difference—there are treatments we are able to try that would simply be out of reach without the help we receive from our tribe.

As I experiment with treatment options I will continue to provide updates about the what we are trying and how it’s going, to include you faithful prayer warriors in the process and so you know how your gifts are blessing us as well.
