Bromsgrove Rugby Club Coronavirus Appeal
Donation protected
Following instruction from the RFU to suspend all rugby activity and the government guidance that continues to evolve, our club has closed. The immediate effect on the club is that we are unable to open for what is being suggested at least a three-month period and therefore our trading revenue will be zero. In addition to this, the three lucrative summer marquee events have all been effected, with CAMRA cancelling their annual Beer Festival and the Summer Ball/Sportsman’s Lunch being postponed, which is income that the club depends heavily to fund our ongoing costs.
Whilst there may be some measure of Governmental and RFU support, which the club is currently trying to tap into, at this stage no specific details are known in terms of any award. Our main priority is to survive the current situation and ensure we bring the club through the storm and ready to commence rugby as and when we are able to next season
Bromsgrove Rugby Football Club is a large part of the local community providing a fantastic environment for individuals to grow physically, mentally and socially. It is also the training base for England Women’s Deaf XV and the club undertakes a huge amount of community interaction with charitable organisations and schools. In the last two years the 1st XV have performed superbly, winning Midlands 1 West last season and then competing fantastically this season in Midlands Premier, the highest level of regional rugby before entering the national leagues.
The 1st XV however, are just a small part of the club's reach into the local community with the club running four senior sides including a “crusader’s” side for the over 35’s . There are also over 400 mini and junior members with teams running from U6 to U18, with the Colt’s reaching the National Finals in 2018. The club also holds the annual North Midland's Under 12 Festival and has this year become the home venue for all North Midland's Under 20 fixtures.
Any donations will be gratefully received and invested back into the club in readiness for the coming season, as we continue to provide a huge social benefit to the town of Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas for nearly 150 years.
Please help ensure that it can carry on providing such an important benefit to the local community.
Kind Regards
