Former STR Bronco Needs Your Help!

Donation protected
Bronco, also affectionately known as Floppy Face McLickerson, is a 4.5- year-old Broncosaurus who needs your help to get surgical intervention for a torn ACL!

After finding himself at risk for death as a former PACC STR pup, due to severe valley fever back in June 2015, he was saved by a local Tucson rescue (now closed). (Animals on the STR list must be pulled from the shelter before a deadline or face euthanasia).
While safe from euthanasia, he never really knew stability.  He had multiple fosters in his nearly two-year-long rescue tenure until Rachel, his last foster-turned-adopter/savior, made it official May 2017.

As a previous volunteer for the former rescue, I am asking for monetary help for both Bronco and Rachel because not only is he part of a special population we rarely forget (previous STR dogs) but also because Rachel impressed me with her patience for and devotion to long-timer Bronky Bear.  Sometimes a dog (and person) create an impact that extends beyond adoption day so when I heard he needed help, I got to typing.  I mean, who can resist this face???

His forever mom is a recent UA college graduate who committed to Bronx, when no one else would, despite his many (expensive) needs:  grain-free-salmon kibble, long-term treatment/follow up for valley fever and allergies, and management for anxiety.  Their loving bond had become too strong for her to see him go to any other home.
For the past 10 months since his official adoption, everything was a happily ever after until Bronco developed a limp a couple weeks ago that didn't go away. Wanting to make sure his valley fever hadn't progressed, his adopter took him to University Pet in Tucson where X-rays revealed an ACL tear.  Being a quite active and energetic pup, he must have sustained the injury during one of his many zoomies.

Two types of surgery options exist: Extracapsular repair ($1800) and TPLO ($4500). While anyone would prefer the cheaper option, there are higher rates of success among large, high-energy dogs receiving TPLO.  At the moment, Rachel is hoping to let Bronco rest for the next few months until enough funds are saved up for Bronco Bear to get the surgery he needs.

Bronco would love to reach as many donors as soon as possible and win them over with his adorable "old-man" face.

He absolutely enjoys being Rachel's hiking and traveling companion - don't let his frowny face fool you.  His destinations include, Colorado, New Mexico, and all over Arizona, to name a few. He is certainly one lucky pup and needs this surgery to have the best shot at being able to continue on these amazing adventures.  The sooner we can secure funds, the sooner he will be on the road to recovery!

Please share with anyone you know who would like to help such a loving and committed adopter for a pup who has been through so much already.  We have such an awesome and generous animal-loving community, I am very hopeful we can meet goal.  Bronco deserves the best chance we can give him.  Thank you so much! And Bronco would definitely give you slobbery kisses as his thanks.
