Bronson's vet bills and eye surgery
Donation protected
Hey Fam,
Time to be vulnerable.
I hate asking for help but when it comes to Bronson i will do anything.
Those close to us know he has had many eye operations in his life and it seems it's time for another one.
We went to a vet who said he needed surgery to remove an eyelash
that was causing an ulcer so we did that after two weeks his eye hadn't improved if anything it got worse he was in immense pain and wasn't acting himself (cowering, dragging his feet, confused) I took him to the emergency vet at the lort smith and they took blood and gave us all the medication to try and heal the ulcer. Today we went back to see if it was healing and of course, with our luck it hasn't.
He will need what they call a "Grid or punctate keratotomy: Using a small needle, scratches are made on the ulcerated region of the cornea. This treatment has a 60-70% success rate per procedure, and can be repeated every 2-3 weeks until healed."
In simple terms, they scrape his eye to re-open the wound so it can try and heal again.
They don't want to have to put him under again as his age and his weird behaviour so he may need to be awake for this procedure :(
I am currently out of work and the bills have stacked up and i am feeling very overwhelmed i have used all my resources. He won't be able to have his surgery tomorrow unless i have half the deposit so far i am in debt over a grand in vet bills and tomorrow they quoted anywhere between $600 -$1000.
If you can help ease the stress even the slightest know it will be very appreciated.
Bronson is my world and seeing him in this much pain for the last month with nothing working is killing me.
We love you all!
