Bronx Kennedy Knights Golf Team

Hello,

I am writing this Go Fund Me request on behalf of my golf team, the Kennedy Campus Knights, located in the Bronx, NY. This is my 6th year coaching this team of (mostly) beginner golfers in New York City. This year's team is a really nice group of dedicated young high school students who want to learn the game of golf. I usually find kids as freshman or sophomores that are interested in learning the game, and that have a bit of competitive edge. A lifelong golfer myself from the state of Wisconsin, I try to coach them as underclassmen so that they can develop into competitive players by their senior year.

One big challenge of coaching golf in the Bronx is finding space to practice. We will often bring a shag bag of golf balls to the baseball field and hit wedges there. We also practice putting on big mats in the gym. This, however, does not give them the experience of being on the course. Mosholu golf course is the closest course with practice facilities. However, the course manager limits our use and wants the team to pay full price for range balls and practice rounds. We have a very limited budget at our school and it is mostly earmarked for equipment. Through this Go Fund Me request, I am hoping to get funds to pay for about 10 trips to the range with the team, and possibly a few practice rounds. We are also in need of a few extra team golf polos, but that would be secondary to our ability to practice.

If anyone could help our golf team get some quality experience at the course, this group of young, aspiring golfers would greatly appreciate the help! Thank you.
