Brooke Hopkins on his road to recovery

Donation protected
This fund aims to alleviate the financial load on the Hopkins family as they deal with ongoing medical needs for husband and father, Brooke.

On December 7th, while leading worship rehearsal, Brooke collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. He received immediate CPR from a dear friend and fellow band member, and paramedics who were close by worked for close to 25 minutes to resuscitate him. He was transported to the hospital where he remained in cardiac ICU for almost two weeks. Despite a few complications, Brooke has been making incredible progress in his recovery and was able to come home for Christmas and slowly return to his work as a music director. However, the genetic heart condition which caused Brooke to go into cardiac arrest has long term implications, and the event and hospitalization require cardio rehab and physical therapy, as well as other treatments, to help Brooke make the fullest recovery possible.

Our family received so much love, prayer, and many, many meals during those critical days of Brooke’s hospitalization. Now that we have a clearer idea of what Brooke’s recovery will entail and of the medical cost, we are able to express our financial needs for those who wish to contribute. The fund is designed to cover the cost of ongoing medical visits not covered by insurance, rehab and therapy, the high deductible, and lost income from side gigs that Brooke missed while in ICU. For all contributions, prayer, love and support, and all our dear friends and family who have stood by us and poured the love of Jesus into us—we love you and we are so grateful!

“….that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” - Ephesians 3:17-21
