Hello. I am the proud brother of this extremely talented young woman. Brooke is currently in her senior year of high school and is looking to pursue her talents and passion for music and theater in college. Throughout her high school career, Brooke has been nothing short of a high academic achiever and member of the National Honor Society. Aside from excelling in the classroom, Brooke has shined on stage being a lead role in several of her school's musicals. It has been truly incredible watching my sister grow up and succeed at anything she puts her mind to. What makes all of her outstanding life achievements even more incredible is that she has accomplished all these things, despite the fact of having a physical disability. Brooke was born with Spina Bifida, which is a birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal cord do not develop properly. Though being born with this physically limiting disability, she has never once used it as an excuse to why she couldn't do something. At three years old she learned to walk using crutches, which allowed her to move around more freely and gain the confidence she has which lead to her becoming the "super star" she is today. Most recently she received the news that she was accepted into her "Dream" school, the Manhattan School of Music. This school not only will allow my sister to pursue her passion and dreams, it also will give her the accommodations she needs to get around successfully in the city. To live out her dream will not be cheap and it is why I have decided to create this page on her behalf. Brooke has overcome and accomplished so many things in her life. Please consider helping her to achieve her dreams of becoming a professional musical theater performer and perhaps even more importantly, a role model for those with disabilities who think they cannot, when we know they can. Thank you!
