Brooklyn and Family
Donation protected
Brooklyn was diagnosed on 13th October 2023 with a brain tumour called DIG (Diffuse Intrinsic Glioma) which is a very aggressive type of childhood cancer that forms in the brain stem. The brain stem controls most of the basic functions: vision, hearing, talking, walking, heart rate etc. DIG is unfortunately incurable as it grows throughout the brain and therefore we have been given the horrendous news that our lovely Brooklyn has been given anywhere from a few weeks to 9 months to live. Brooklyn is currently undergoing radiotherapy treatment at The Marsden to hopefully pause the tumour and give us a little more time with him. Although he is extremely poorly but we are forever hopeful that this will help.
Brooklyn is a wonderful little boy who has touched so many people’s hearts with his funny personality, loving heart and kindness and we cannot even begin to imagine life without him.
The money raised will go on a range of things. Immediate costs for now such as food for Leanne and family whilst in hospital and travel costs to and from the hospital, financial support for Leanne and family so Brooklyn’s siblings can continue their routine as much as possible. As well as this, money raised will go towards future costs when hopefully Brooklyn returns home after treatment, such as modifications to their family home, blinds and curtains in their living room, medical equipment such as a heart rate monitor, wheelchair rain cover and foot stool etc. We are also hoping that we get maximum time with him as possible so money raised would go towards making memories, fun days out and family trips. As well as this, money raised will go towards funeral costs and support during this terribly sad time.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for donating towards this cause and I cannot believe I am even having to write this. Leanne, Brooklyn and her family have been so incredibly brave and anything we can do to support and make this time special and stress free as possible.
UPDATE 31/12/23
We are now very sadly on the final stages of Brooklyn’s journey and are making him as comfortable as possible in hospital. Please continue to donate and share his story as much as possible. He was only diagnosed 11 weeks ago and before that was a happy and healthy 4 year old.
