Brooklyn Cares

Brooklyn Cares is a collaborative of families and restaurants working together to provide meals for healthcare workers on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19. As teachers at a school in Brooklyn, we are hoping to help bring our community together to provide nourishment to those working so hard to care for us.

We have reached out to neighborhood restaurants and many are eager to help supply meals.  Kitchen on Court Street and Purslane (the catering arm of Rucola) are ready to go now, and others like La Vara and Saint Julivert are hoping to join our efforts in the coming weeks.  

We've also connected with administrators at Cobble Hill Health (local nursing home), SUNY Downstate, NYU/Bellevue, and Maimonides who are all ready and able to accept as many as 150 donated meals a day to help feed their doctors, nurses, health aids, support staff, and more.

All we need now...are the funds to make it all happen!
