Hi! My name is Trevor O'Loughlin. I am a music teacher at Excel Upper School, located in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn.
It feels as if funding for arts education has always been on the decline. While Excel Upper's administration has been supportive in giving what it can, the children of Canarsie deserve a comprehensive music program that rivals any New York institution.
To get ready for the 2023-2024 school year, I am looking to crowdfund $2,000 for my students. 100% of the money raised will be used for the following:
- Instruments such as drums and any other percussion instruments
- Practice gear that the students can take home(drumsticks, practice pads)
- Repertoire and learning material
- Uniforms
- Travel expenses for field trips and concerts
