Janet Hoffman was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who brought joy and happiness to those who she came in contact with. She had a vibrant personality that attracted anyone that was around her and she had a beautiful smile that was one in a million. She talked and listened to anyone and everyone and made those around her feel welcomed and loved. Unfortunately for our family, she was stricken with early onset Alzheimer's at a young age and just recently passed away on June 2, 2021. After her husband was no longer able to continue to give the care that was needed for her while living in New Mexico, the family decided to move her back "home" to North Carolina where they lived for 24 years. Brookstone of Clemmons was able to help coordinate a very tricky move and transition from New Mexico to North Carolina in a matter of a few weeks. They got her into care in an incredibly timely fashion and helped facilitate all that was needed to get her settled as smoothly as possible.
Janet entered care on April 18, 2021 and right from the start, the level of genuine care, expertise and love was immediately felt and gave our family peace and assurance that she was being well taken care of. We felt they were watching over and loving her at the same level we had tried to give her for the last few years. Even though she was slipping away as each day passed, every person at Brookstone went above and beyond to give her the highest quality of life possible. From the management all the way down to those that clean the facility, every person we met showed compassion and love for her as they attended to her needs. Every single person on the staff we met seemed to have connected with Janet in some way and formed a loving bond with her. We are extremely thankful and grateful for this incredible team of tender individuals that looked after Janet and that continue to care for those that are still there today. We feel that these are some of the unsung heroes in the medical field that are often taken for granted and overlooked.
100% of the funds that we raise will be divided evenly among the entire Brookstone of Clemmons staff. Many of the caregivers are going to school full time to pursue various medical professions and are working there to gain on the job knowledge and experience. They are all extremely hard working individuals and we simply wanted to give back to them for their tireless devotion to Janet during her 44 days there.
We hope to be able to give the team this gift by July 1, 2021. I am Janet's oldest son, Jeffrey, and I will be responsible for distributing these funds to the team. Thank you for your consideration and donation.
