Here is Erika's message to all about the accident.
This is not easy and there’s not going to be much, as we don’t know much, but I needed to create this page so that I don’t forget anyone in texts and calls....
Shelby was in a pretty horrible Car accident Saturday evening. He hit a brick building, was ejected from his car and hit the building head first.
We thank God that the EMS got there when they did, as things would be a lot different. Shelby was breathing and had a heart beat when they found him THANK GOD!
The hospital contacted us at 5pm Sunday that he was here at Swedish. (I am sure his wallet was in the door of his car, so they didn’t know who he was. His name here was Johnny Bravo until then)
They had him in the operating room as soon as they got him to the hospital. They had to stop the bleeding and relieve the pressure on his brain. So his left half of his scull has been removed until that swelling has gone away. They also had to stop the bleeding in his liver. They think it was caused by one of his ribs, as he fractured two of those.
He is on a vent, really only to prevent obstruction to his airway. His body was fighting it, he really doesn’t like that shit down his throat, so they forced him into a coma.
They do have him on a feeding tube and are keeping him as comfortable as they can.
Because of Covid, I am unable to stay the night with him,Which is fricking killing me... but have been here until they kick me out each evening, blaring Truckers, Panic and JJ ❤️
We have such an amazing village who is wrapping us in love and prayers and taking care of the boys. They are all in good hands.
We can’t thank you all enough
so...things will be slow to come, as we are just waiting for his body to heal and him to start to wake
Word is that we will be here in the ICU for at least a week...
uff, I know I’m in the right place and our boys are being taken care of, but this is so hard, I don’t sit still well and I don’t have an ounce of patience
Please, continue to keep us all in your prayers!!!
