Brown and Out Fest V - LGBTQ LatinX Play Festival

Tax deductible
ABOUT BROWN & OUT FEST
BROWN & OUT FEST V opens June 7 through July 7, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. For five weeks we will bring to the stage eleven original plays and one original film celebrating the Queer and LatinXperience. Its home is at Casa 0101 Theater, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

OUR GOALS
•  To amplify the voices of our latinx/queer/trans/non-binary/LGBTQ+/chican(o/a/x) siblings

•  To prevent suicide and show LatinX LGBTQIAP+ youth they are worthy

•  To cultivate talent and inspire the next generation of artists

OUR HISTORY
The first Brown and Out Fest took place September 2011 and was presented at Little Casa Theater in Los Angeles, California. For the past three seasons Brown and Out Fest has been growing. This year is our fifth season and we have big plans.

OUR CAMPAIGN aims to raise $20,000 to bring our eleven plays and one film to life and ensure Brown and Out Fest has a home for seasons to come.

OUR WRITERS AND DIRECTORS make up a diverse pool of queer experiences, generations and identities.

THE QUEER LEGACY Our play festival hopes to celebrate and highlight the LatinXperience within our LGBTQ+ family so we can recognize and acknowledge our Latinx community.

How Does My Contribution Help?
A festival of this magnitude takes the effort of many talented artists. From actors and production staff to designers and directors, there are a lot of people to pay. Then there is rent. This year Brown and Out Fest V has a five week run,  commemorating the fifth season. We would also love the opportunity to add more shows to better serve our community. Another very exciting feat is the showing of our first Brown and Out Fest written film.
Brown and Out Fest V is also providing access to our community, who often does not get to enjoy live theater, by making 10% of all tickets sold ‘Pay-As-You-Can,’ Contributions made to this campaign will ensure we can cover all necessary expenditures to support our efforts.
