Adeva Brown Geddes and Family

Today January 11th, 2024 it is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of the loss of Adeva Brown Geddes. This is a tragedy that has deeply affected not only our department, but our entire community. Though we mourn today, we will continue to honor their legacy through our work, our community, and the values they held so dearly.

Rest in peace, Adeva. You will be dearly missed, but never far from our hearts.

Hello Everyone.

Adeva Brown-Geddes is a Correctional Officer at the Toronto South Detention Centre and has been with us since June 2023. On Saturday, January 5th, 2025, Adeva was with her partner, Shy, when she suffered a severe anaphylactic allergic reaction that caused her to stop breathing. Adeva is currently in the hospital on life support. During this difficult time, her family is by her side, keeping her company
