Cindy Bakay's battle to beat Ovarian Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, this is Mike. I'm writing this on behalf of my Mom, Cindy Bakay. In June 2023 my Mom began experiencing pain in her abdomen. After a few trips to the doctor and several tests, my Mom was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer (malignant adenocarcinoma). To say this shook our world would be an understatement.
My Mom has always inspired me as someone that created a full, happy life for her family. As a kid, I learned to dream big and to go after those dreams as I watched my Mom go from working long hours as a hair stylist to starting her own small business. The reality is that as a single Mom for many years, Cindy has worked hard to provide us with the best life possible and to help us realize our goals.
As the owner of Salon 360 in Hamburg NJ, my Mom has been a valued member of the community both for other hair stylists as a mentor and for her clients as a confidant and advisor. Through 15 years of business she has been there for countless scheduled appointments and walk-ins to not only provide the latest cut and color for her clients’ hair, but also to add dimension and “color” to her clients’ lives through her fun-loving personality, stories, advice, and willingness to lend a listening ear.
My Mom was there for many of you when you got married and needed a hairstyle that would look as amazing as you felt walking down the aisle; for others when you needed a haircut the night before your graduation to help you hold your shoulders high walking across that stage to a hard-earned diploma; and for some when you woke up one random Saturday morning, looked in the mirror, and realized those grays needed to go. Cindy has always been willing to drop whatever she is doing to help a friend, family member, or client that needs her.
Cindy is a loving, caring person and the best Mom a person could want. She will stand by you when you’re down and stand up for you when you need it most. As her family, we are going to stand by Cindy and fight this no matter how hard or how long it takes.
This fundraiser is to support Cindy’s medical costs in battling cancer. The money raised will help to cover the cost of her chemotherapy, surgery, and personal expenses while she is unable to work.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
We will post updates as we have them. Please keep Cindy and her family in your prayers as well as they persevere through this difficult time.
