Bruce H. Butler Legal Help Fund

We are attempting to raise money to help fund Bruce H. Butler's legal fee's for his appeal. He has a very strong argument and has won a 4th Amendment ruling in his favor. Since Bruce has entered the MDOC he has worked as a Law Clerk for 4 and a half years. He has been a full-time Legal Writer since August 2017 and has continuously fought to help other's receive proper legal representation.
He is in need of an Attorney/Advocate to help him through the finish line. We are blessed to have found that attorney and we are asking for your help in securing this lawyer to help my father fight for his freedom. I have known Bruce for close to 40 years.
His oldest child used to play with our oldest.
He and my husband met at their job, and continued on to
work for the rights and protection of the rank-and-file folks.
When the un-democratic local union bureaucrats would
favor their own supporters, and not the whole work force--
Bruce, my husband, and others, worked to build a caucus that
represented everyone—including those who were discriminated
against, by race, religion, or beliefs. He worked with people to make the
local union responsive to ALL its members. They were successful in
both challenging the unfair local officials, and in re-building a
representative local union. It finally had working committees and
responsive new union officials.
Bruce has a big heart. He feels the pain of others, and conducts himself
by the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you.”
Even though he has faced tragedy in his life, like the asthma death of his
2nd son at the age of nine, he has tried to focus on the positive. He looks
for the light that gives hope for the future, and tries to use it to temper
and guide his actions and his relations with others.
I look forward to Bruce having a chance for showcasing his defense,
hopefully leading to his freedom, and continuing his services to others.
