Bruce Scot Cooper Memorial Scholarship

To those who knew and loved Scot Cooper,

We are coming together to celebrate the life of Scot Cooper, who fought cancer with incredible courage for many years. Scot’s spirit was unstoppable, and he always had a kind word for everyone, touching lives in countless meaningful ways.

Scot was not only a loving father and husband but also a staple in the Swampscott community. For years he provided in depth analysis and play-by-play recaps for sports of all genres in Swampscott Highschool athletics and surrounding towns. Scot never failed to paint the perfect picture of the sporting event he was covering, and certainly always did his best to make the Highschool athletes he was writing about look like professional superstars. To celebrate his passion for life, we are organizing a scholarship fund that will support Student Athletes with interest in sports writing and sports management. Additionally, we will be hosting the 2nd Annual charity golf tournament on Thursday September 12th, 2024 that will contribute to the scholarship fund. This event is a heartfelt tribute to a man who held a special place in the hearts of many. In the first year we raised nearly $8,000!

Our goal is to establish a lasting scholarship fund for years to come. Your generous contribution will not only help us create a fitting tribute to Scot, but also support causes that were close to his heart.
