Bruce's Christmas Emergency

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

Update: We said our final farewell to our beloved Bruce today. We did everything we could for him. He was the best dog anyone could ask for. He was Bianca’s adventure buddy for ten years. He was Selas’s brother and best friend. He was my best friend too. He will be missed more than words can express. I wish this campaign could serve its original purpose of helping us heal him but unfortunately now i have to ask that you help cover some of the costs of his final days. Our vet bill was $4085 which would have been well worth every penny if it meant more time with our Bruce. Anything you can contribute will help offset this added burden. Thank you to everyone that has already contributed or shared this.

We had a rough Christmas this year. After opening presents and having a nice breakfast we had to rush our dog, Bruce to the emergency vet. It’s not looking great. His heart rate is low, he’s unresponsive, and has a really high fever. Idk if there’s much hope. This is my girlfriend, Bianca’s dog and has been with her since he was a puppy and with me for 2 years. He truly is her best friend and she’ll do anything for him.

We had to leave him overnight. He was severely dehydrated and got put on an iv which brought his fever down a little but his temp is still high. His liver is enlarged but doesn’t look tumorous to the vet although she was cautious with her wording because she’s not certified as a radiologist so she can’t say for sure. We got to go see him before leaving and all he could do was look at us. We couldn’t even tell if he recognized us. It really sucks. I think everyone hopes their furry friends will live forever and you can’t prep for this. It’s extra unfortunate that it happened on Christmas which not only ruined the day for us (and her 10 yo son) but also makes everything way more pricey.

Update 12/26: We heard back from the vet that he’s not improving much. The xray looks like he has a large mass in his stomach wall. They want to do an ultrasound to confirm that the mass is what’s causing everything. They told us there’s nothing they can do if that is the case, as the mass is far too large to remove. He’s still at the emergency vet and isn’t stable enough to come home. We agreed to an ultrasound but we’re not sure if that will give us any new options.
