Brucey’s treatment
Donation protected
Bruce is a 3 year old Frenchie who was diagnosed with IMHA Immune mediated haemolytic anaemia a couple of weeks ago. IMHA is when the body's immune system attacks and destroys its own red blood cells, causing life-threatening anaemia. Brucey spent 4 days in intensive care and was put onto steroids to get him back home. Unfortunately, Bruce has not been responding as well as we had hoped to the medication and is now trying new medication, which costs £175 a week. Bruce declined over the last 24 hours and is now back in hospital receiving treatment. So far Bruce’s 4 days in hospital have cost £4,500 and he will require a blood transfusion which is £1000 per transfusion. He is currently in hospital again which is costing us around £1000 a night. We are doing everything that we can to get Bruce back to health as a family but have already used the maximum provided by the insurance company. Any help would be hugely appreciated to get our Brucey back to being his crazy self, having cuddles and pup cups on demand!
