Brush/McGrath - works @ Take Root

Brush/McGrath - works is the collaborative team of choreographers Shawn Brush and Molly McGrath. We started making work a little over one year ago, and are headed into 2018 with our next big step – our first group work!
Up until this point we have shown our duet, “A Template for Stasis” at various venues across NYC. Now, for this coming May, we’ve been selected to make a brand new work for the Take Root series at Green Space in Long Island City. We are beyond excited to hire three other awesome NYC-based dancers to make this work happen!
This is where we need YOUR help. NYC is competitive when it comes to funding and space, and production costs can add up quickly. The $3,000 we’re looking for would go towards studio rentals, tech costs at show time, and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, paying our dancers for their time and effort. We both know what it’s like to dance in a piece for free because we love the art form, but we truly recognize our dancers’ contributions as work and wish to compensate them however we can.
100% of our endeavors so far have been paid for out of pocket, but this project is more ambitious so we’re looking to you to help support your local dance artists! This money will go a long way to not only make sure this work can happen, but to ensure that we can continue to create in the future.
