My sweet sister & her dog Pitt bull attack

Hi, my name is Fonda Schmitz & my sister Stephanie Goolsby & the family dog Prancer live in Dallas, TX. She was walking Prancer in her neighborhood & out of nowhere a vicious unleashed, no collared pit bull ran after them and attacked. Stephanie immediately was tackled to the ground by the pit bull so she tried to protect Prancer (as he is her autistic son’s emotional animal for past 9yrs) so she jumped into action with mom instincts & wrapped her arms around Prancer neck as pit bulls kill by biting the neck. The pit bull jumped on top of her causing her to lay on top of Prancer while this evil dog was attacking her legs/arms/hands/ribs & face. The pit bull DID get Prancer as well & they BOTH are severely injured! Steph has broken wrists   crushed hands (even on inside) scarred legs, 3 broken ribs and road rash all over face from pit bull dragging her on street & several stitches. Prancer had a lengthy surgery as well as my sister & he will never be the same. They are both home now & still in shock. Thank God for 2 male construction workers & neighbors in the area who ran to help her after calling 911. They pulled the pit bull off of Steph. It took 2 of them and they had to sit on the dog. He was still trying to get at my sister. She was rushed to emergency via ambulance & police had to rush Prancer to emergency vet. Her husband left work and has had to take off 10 days to care for both of them as well as my autistic nephew Tyler who is extremely confused & distraught & having outbursts. My sister is a private school teacher at a Christian Academy & she donates er time and money to her own students & classroom. Her school was on spring break & the attack was on her 2nd day off. She was looking forward to the rest because she was in Ohio for both of our parents to help recently. Unfortunately she has missed a full week after spring break as it was over 6 days ago. Prancers vet bill will exceed 3k. Steph has had Tyler (her autistic son) with her full time his entire life, he is 31. She was a 100% full time single mom for many years & has married a wonderful man who treats Tyler as his own.They rent a small townhome & this brutal attack has really done a number on this sweet family and their finances. My sister used her last paid week to be in Ohio to help care for our mother who had to undergo removal of skin cancer in Feb , so because of this attack she wasn’t paid for an entire week which to families that are on a budget that can be detrimental. She has been informed that the owner of the pit bull is unemployed and so she really has no case. The owner rents a unit in a single apartment building with his pit bull & I guess does side jobs for cash. The hardest part of this for our family is Tyler, he doesn’t understand why such a brutal attack could happen to his mom & his beloved prancer who is his best friend. Prancer can’t even get up yet & Tyler is very upset & being autistic just doesn’t get it. This will forever change my sister, Prancer & especially Tyler. I started this page (I’ve never done this before) because my sister is a sweet Christian woman who loves all animals & humans no matter what! She wasn’t even blaming this vicious dog if you can believe that. She struggles with her own health issues, she has had 2 strokes in the past 6 months and is a type 1 juvenile diabetic & wears an insulin pump 24/7. She STILL always remains positive & wants to get back to her kids at school because they are upset because they want their miss Goolsby  back. Some parents don’t even like sending their children to school w/out her there. She isn’t one to ask for help as she is always helping everyone else, that’s why I’m doing this page. I love my sister & I just hate to see her in pain & struggling. She is a navy veteran & was a nursing assistant In the Navy because she enjoys helping people.
