Bry's Medical Journey
For everyone who has followed my medical journey for the past 5 years...
It has taken 12 specialists, countless tests and labs to finally end up where we are. Not knowing what exactly is causing my health condition has progressed to about 75% of my time bed ridden, being in extreme discomfort/pain, no social life, and any family outting being stuck in a wheelchair at only 24 years old.
In 2016, I started feeling extremely fatigued, weak and tired. My brain fog made it impossible to hold a job or keep up with my schoolwork in college. Doctors were quick to mask these symptoms by prescribing a stimulant and sending me on my way. I tried test after test, scan after scan only for things to be swept under the rug with no explanation. In 2018, I got pregnant with our handsome little miracle baby. 9 months of complete agony, but I gave birth to a healthy baby boy! All of my “pregnancy symptoms” only worsened after giving birth. Since then, I have only added to my list of symptoms and complications. Muscle weakness, bone/nerve/muscle/joint pain, hypoglycemia, vertigo, seizures, dizziness, nausea, shortnessof breath, excessive weight gain, skin flushing, and a whole page more of symptoms. Still no answers, no diagnosis.
My family has very strong hopes in finally finding the right diagnosis & treatment with this doctor we have found at The Logan Institute. This doctor is out of network with insurances due to his alternative medical practices not commonly found in our health care system. For this reason, we have created a GoFundMe in hopes of any financial support for this journey of ours. I am in the process of getting extensive blood work and testing done for this doctor and have put the cost thus far as our goal. Saying this, I may need further testing done, costing more money down the road. However, we feel like we are closer than ever to a diagnosis after my most recent appointment.
God is with me every step of this journey & has given me an AMAZING husband & son. They have shown me my purpose and are the reason behind the strength that has gotten me this far. Now, I am just patiently waiting for the day I can take my son to the park by myself and go on adventurous dates with my husband.
We appreciate every ounce of support both in prayers, physical support & financial. Thank you everyone for any kind of contribution!
