Bryan Christian's New Surgery
Donation protected
Bryan was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma of the inferior vena cava earlier this year. It's a super rare cancer with limited treatment options, especially since it has metastasized.
UPDATE: As of January 2022, Bryan has been having a lot of abdomen pain recently, and along with that, difficulty eating enough due to that pain. He’d like some help raising money for a new type of surgery called cryoablation surgery that has been seeing really positive results and would work with the immune system instead of against it.
Cryoablation surgery includes injecting liquid nitrogen into the center of the main tumor behind his intestines (which is about 3x3 inches) killing the center of it. They then inject immunotherapy drugs into that space creating a vaccine inside of the tumor and acting systemically on the body.
*The surgery is extremely expensive at a price tag of $65k.* And for those of you wondering, radiation is no longer an option because of damage to the surrounding organs.
In his words “I’m deeply grateful for all of the pain and everything I’ve gone through, I feel everything happens for a very powerful reason and NOTHING will stop me from giving my heart to the world and helping as many people as I can this is just a challenge along the journey.“
Please donate and spread the word so we can help keep our friend around for longer.
UPDATE: As of February 22nd 2021, Bryan's lung tumors are 1/3 the size, and a lot have disappeared – yay. The mass behind his intestines has stayed the same size but has now grown into his vertebrae in his spine. He is starting radiation to shrink it and will hopefully switch to immunotherapy after that to fully take it out. He's trying to stay positive but it's certainly been a rollercoaster of treatment and symptoms.
Bryan is the most amazing human who inspires us with his strength, humor, and adventurous spirit. It's so unfair that this beautiful soul has to fight this.
