Bryan lost his battle with cancer but you can help Laura.

If you live in or own land in the territory of Sky Bryce Association (SBA) or Bryce Resort, you know Bryan McDaniel. Bryan is the Chief of Patrol for the Association and has been keeping an eye on our streets and your homes and lots for 15 years. His wife Laura is the General Manager of the Association so their reach into your safety and quality of life in Sky Bryce is multiplied. Bryan and Laura are dedicated and experienced executives of SBA, live in Basye, and so together, they live, eat and breathe Sky Bryce.
Recently, a routine medical visit for what was thought to be a minor discomfort, turned their world on end. Bryan has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer, defined as “Moderately Differentiated Adenocarcinoms of the rectum. Bryan will undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatments at the hospital in Winchester 5 days a week for 6 weeks. After this, there will be intravenous injections of chemo every two weeks for 14 weeks at the hospital, as well as continuing the ongoing oral chemo at home. Hopefully, and God willing, if successful, then there will be surgery to remove and repair the damage. This whole process began Monday July 15, with a positive day of treatment, so we are praying for positive results and a long and comfortable life.
This is a monster “gut punch" and something one can’t prepare or be ready for. Bryan and Laura will continue to be available and fulfill their responsibilities at Sky Bryce. If necessary, during any time away, Brooke will cover the office and Eric and Danny will cover Patrol. Hours of operation or activities will not change. The SBA employee benefits include generous medical coverage, but they will be incurring significant medical bills, far in excess of the amounts that will be paid for by the insurance.
Asking for help and raising funds through a source such as Go Fund Me is not their style. They live a modest lifestyle and are dedicated to family, work and faith. I have initiated this effort as I know Bryan and Laura well and they are wonderful and caring people. This has been cleared with them before proceeding and they are very appreciative. They have made a significant contribution to SBA and our community for many years and they now face an uphill battle and need to be able to focus on the cure and rehab. A goal of $15,000 is set in order to help them with the medical and significant other costs that they will be incurring. Any contribution you can make will help defray a bit of the financial needs and fears that they face. Please keep Bryan and Laura in your prayers.
